How do I use Popcorn?

Popcorn is Higgsfield's native AI storyboard generator: instead of producing single frames independently, it creates coherent sequences of up to 8 frames where character identity, lighting, and atmosphere stay consistent across every shot. Direct each frame in Manual mode, expand one prompt into a full sequence in Auto mode, or turn your own photos into a styled photo set with Instadump.

What is Popcorn?

Most image models process each prompt independently: generate a second image with the same character, and the face, lighting, or background shifts. Popcorn generates frames as connected parts of one visual sequence: when you create a character in the first frame, the identity (same face, same body), lighting, clothing, depth, reflections, and spatial logic persist across all subsequent frames, and the environment evolves naturally as the scene progresses, so every frame reads like a still from the same production. Popcorn can also combine real photos and AI-generated images in one sequence.

What are the creation modes?

Manual mode — direct every frame yourself: define the subject, setting, style, and atmosphere shot by shot, with full storyboard-artist control.

Auto mode — write one prompt, choose how many frames you want (up to 8), and Popcorn expands your story into a full cinematic sequence.

Instadump mode — upload your own photos and generate a set of new images that look like you, styled after a pack of reference photos.

How do I generate a storyboard?

1. Choose your input: a written prompt, image references, or both combined.
2. Choose the mode: Manual or Auto.
3. Generate. The credit cost is shown on the Generate button before you confirm.

How do references work?

Popcorn accepts up to 4 image references (portraits, props, locations) and merges them into one sequence: address each by its number in the prompt. For example: "Man from image one in the setting of image three, wearing the outfit from image four."

How do I write a good Popcorn prompt?

Popcorn rewards cinematic thinking. Structure the prompt like a film cue:

1. Subject — who's on screen
2. Setting — where the action happens
3. Style — cinematic, anime, realistic, concept art
4. Action — what happens
5. Atmosphere — light, mood, emotion

Example: "Cinematic style. A woman from image one walking through a neon-lit Tokyo street from image three, holding the umbrella from image two. Slow rain, reflections on asphalt, shallow depth of field."

How does Instadump work?

Instadump runs as a separate three-step flow:

1. Choose a pack. Pick one of the ready-made style packs or create your own: upload up to 15 reference photos (PNG or JPG, or paste them from the clipboard) and give the pack a name.
2. Add your photo. Upload the photo of yourself that the pack style will be applied to.
3. Get your Instadump. Popcorn generates new images that look like you, in the style of the selected pack.

Which aspect ratios does Popcorn support?

You can also leave the ratio on Auto and Popcorn will pick it for you. Keep the input aspect ratio consistent with the target output for the most natural results.

How do I turn a storyboard into video?

How do I get more accurate outputs?

• The style drifts between frames. Lead with style keywords at the start of the prompt so the whole sequence follows them.
• The scene looks generic. Describe the action rather than the genre: "a knight walks through fire" works better than "fantasy movie."
• The mood isn't landing. Use clear emotional language in the atmosphere part of the prompt.
• Iterations keep resetting the look. Refine the text prompt instead of re-uploading inputs when generating again.
